The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
